Ingredients
Scale
- 400g spaghetti
- 6 cloves garlic, sliced
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
- Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the spaghetti in a large pot of salted boiling water according to package instructions until al dente.
- Meanwhile, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and red pepper flakes.
- Sauté until the garlic is golden brown, being careful not to burn it.
- Once the spaghetti is done, reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
- Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet and toss to coat in the garlic oil.
- If the pasta seems dry, add a little reserved pasta water to moisten.
- Season with salt to taste and remove from heat.
- Garnish with chopped parsley and serve with grated Parmesan cheese, if desired.
Notes
For a variation, add some sautéed vegetables or cooked shrimp for added flavor and texture.
