These chocolate mousse brownies bring together a fudgy brownie base and a light, silky chocolate mousse on top for a rich, dreamy dessert.

- 1 cup of unsalted butter
- 2 cups of granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1 cup of all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup of cocoa powder
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt
- 1 cup of heavy cream
- 8 oz of semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
- 1/2 cup of powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- Melt the butter in a saucepan, then stir in the sugar until smooth.
- Remove from heat and mix in eggs, one at a time, followed by vanilla.
- In another bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, and salt, then gradually stir into the butter mixture.
- Spread the brownie batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes.
- For the mousse, heat the cream until just below boiling, then pour over the chopped chocolate and stir until melted.
- Whip until soft peaks form and gradually add powdered sugar.
- Once brownies are cool, spread the mousse over the brownies and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
- Cut into squares and serve.
