Description

These chocolate mousse brownies bring together a fudgy brownie base and a light, silky chocolate mousse on top for a rich, dreamy dessert.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup of unsalted butter
  • 2 cups of granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup of cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 cup of heavy cream
  • 8 oz of semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1/2 cup of powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Melt the butter in a saucepan, then stir in the sugar until smooth.
  3. Remove from heat and mix in eggs, one at a time, followed by vanilla.
  4. In another bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, and salt, then gradually stir into the butter mixture.
  5. Spread the brownie batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes.
  6. For the mousse, heat the cream until just below boiling, then pour over the chopped chocolate and stir until melted.
  7. Whip until soft peaks form and gradually add powdered sugar.
  8. Once brownies are cool, spread the mousse over the brownies and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  9. Cut into squares and serve.
