- 1 box saltine crackers
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- Nuts (optional)
- Candy canes (optional)
- Sea salt (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange the saltine crackers in an even layer.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar together over medium heat, stirring constantly until it reaches a boil.
- Pour the mixture evenly over the saltine crackers.
- Bake in the oven for 5-6 minutes until bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle chocolate chips on top. Let sit for a few minutes until melted, then spread the chocolate evenly over the top.
- Top with nuts, candy canes, or sea salt if desired.
- Allow to cool completely before breaking into pieces.
Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. For longer storage, freeze with parchment paper in between layers.
