Description

A simple, crunchy-sweet treat made with saltine crackers, buttery caramel, and melted chocolate, perfect for holiday snacking.


Ingredients

  • 1 box saltine crackers
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • Nuts (optional)
  • Candy canes (optional)
  • Sea salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange the saltine crackers in an even layer.
  3. In a saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar together over medium heat, stirring constantly until it reaches a boil.
  4. Pour the mixture evenly over the saltine crackers.
  5. Bake in the oven for 5-6 minutes until bubbly.
  6. Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle chocolate chips on top. Let sit for a few minutes until melted, then spread the chocolate evenly over the top.
  7. Top with nuts, candy canes, or sea salt if desired.
  8. Allow to cool completely before breaking into pieces.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. For longer storage, freeze with parchment paper in between layers.
