Description

A simple sweet treat combining salty crackers, rich caramel, and melty chocolate, perfect for holiday gifting.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup Saltine crackers
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • Sea salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange the Saltine crackers in a single layer.
  3. In a saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar together, stirring until fully combined.
  4. Bring to a boil and let simmer for 3 minutes without stirring.
  5. Pour the caramel mixture over the Saltine crackers, spreading it evenly.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 5-7 minutes until bubbly.
  7. Remove from the oven and sprinkle the chocolate chips on top. Let sit for a few minutes to melt, then spread the chocolate evenly over the caramel.
  8. Optionally, sprinkle sea salt on top.
  9. Let it cool completely, then break into pieces and enjoy!
