Description

A simple and fun craft to create unique Christmas ornaments using common kitchen ingredients.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup salt
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
  • Optional: food coloring, baking soda for extra strength

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°F (90°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt.
  3. Gradually add water and oil, mixing until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  5. If desired, add food coloring to the dough.
  6. Roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thick.
  7. Use cookie cutters to cut out shapes and make a hole for hanging.
  8. Place the ornaments on a baking sheet and bake for 2–3 hours until hard.
  9. Allow to cool completely before decorating.

Notes

Wrap finished ornaments in tissue paper or bubble wrap to prevent chipping. Avoid humid areas during storage.
