- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in the sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
- Beat in the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder until no dry streaks remain.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and peppermint extract gently.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let cool in the pan before dusting with powdered sugar and cutting into squares.
Notes
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream, dust with powdered sugar, or add crushed candy cane on top for added flavor.
