Description

Soft and flavorful Red Velvet Cinnamon Rolls with a creamy glaze, perfect for breakfast or dessert.


Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) instant yeast
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup milk, warmed
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp red food coloring
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened (for filling)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened (for glaze)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (for glaze)
  • 23 tbsp milk (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, instant yeast, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, combine the warm milk, melted butter, egg, vanilla extract, and red food coloring.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  5. Let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  6. Roll out the dough into a rectangle. Spread softened butter on top, then sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
  7. Roll the dough tightly and cut into rolls.
  8. Place in a greased baking dish and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  9. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 25-30 minutes.
  10. For the glaze, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth.
  11. Drizzle the glaze over the warm rolls before serving.

Notes

Serve warm for best flavor and texture. You can heat them in the microwave for a few seconds if they cool.
