Soft and flavorful Red Velvet Cinnamon Rolls with a creamy glaze, perfect for breakfast or dessert.

- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) instant yeast
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup milk, warmed
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp red food coloring
- 1/4 cup butter, softened (for filling)
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp cinnamon
- 1 cup cream cheese, softened (for glaze)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract (for glaze)
- 2–3 tbsp milk (for glaze)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, instant yeast, and salt.
- In another bowl, combine the warm milk, melted butter, egg, vanilla extract, and red food coloring.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle. Spread softened butter on top, then sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Roll the dough tightly and cut into rolls.
- Place in a greased baking dish and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 25-30 minutes.
- For the glaze, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth.
- Drizzle the glaze over the warm rolls before serving.
Notes
Serve warm for best flavor and texture. You can heat them in the microwave for a few seconds if they cool.
