Description

Soft and fudgy Red Velvet Crinkle Cookies with a rich flavor and festive appearance, perfect for holidays and celebrations.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup red food coloring
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar for rolling

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg, red food coloring, and vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  6. Chill the dough in the fridge for about 30 minutes.
  7. Roll the dough into balls, then roll each ball in powdered sugar to coat.
  8. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are set.
  10. Allow to cool slightly before transferring to a wire rack.

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days. For longer storage, freeze the baked cookies.
