- 4 cups mini marshmallows (or 10 oz regular marshmallows)

Instructions
- Prepare your 9×13-inch pan by lightly buttering it or lining it with parchment paper.
- Melt the butter in a large pot over low heat.
- Add marshmallows to the melted butter and stir until smooth.
- Remove pot from heat and stir in vanilla and salt, if using.
- Pour the rice cereal into the pot and gently fold until all pieces are coated.
- Transfer the mix to the prepared pan and press it evenly with a buttered spatula.
- Let cool for about 30 minutes at room temperature.
- Cut into squares and serve.
