Description

Create fun and personalized salt dough ornaments that are perfect for gifts and decorations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup salt
  • 1 cup water
  • Optional: food coloring, glitter, or paint for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°F (90°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix together the flour and salt. Gradually add water and knead until a smooth dough forms.
  3. If desired, add food coloring for a festive touch.
  4. Roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thick and use cookie cutters to shape ornaments.
  5. Make a hole at the top of each ornament using a straw for hanging.
  6. Place ornaments on a baking sheet and bake for 2-3 hours until hard.
  7. Once cool, decorate with paint or glitter if desired.
  8. String ribbon through the holes for hanging.

Notes

Use a soft, even pressure when rolling the dough to keep thickness consistent. Seal finished ornaments with clear craft varnish or Mod Podge to extend their longevity.
