Description

These Soft Peanut Butter Carrot Dog Treats are homemade, healthy, and perfect for pups of all ages. Made with real peanut butter, fresh carrots, and oats, they’re soft-baked, freezer-friendly, and endlessly tail-wagging. Your dog will love every chewy bite!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (255g) natural creamy peanut butter (xylitol-free)

  • 3/4 cup (180ml) skim milk

  • 1 large egg (or 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce)

  • 1 large carrot, shredded (or 2/3 cup shredded baby carrots)

  • 2 1/4 cups (290g) whole wheat flour, spooned and leveled

  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

  • 1/3 cup (28g) rolled oats or quick oats

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C). Line 2 large baking sheets with parchment or silicone mats.

  • In a large bowl, mix peanut butter, milk, egg (or applesauce), and shredded carrot until combined.

  • Add flour and baking powder. Stir until a thick dough forms. Mix in oats.

  • Transfer dough to a floured surface. Roll out to 1/4-inch thick and cut into shapes using cookie cutters.

  • Arrange on baking sheets. Bake 15 minutes, flip, and bake 10 more minutes. For crunchier treats, bake an extra 5 minutes.

  • Cool completely on a wire rack before serving. Store in an airtight container or freeze for up to 2 months.

Notes

For egg-free: use 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce.

For grain-free: substitute oat flour or brown rice flour.

Store at room temp up to 1 week or freeze for longer freshness.

Avoid peanut butter with xylitol or artificial sweeteners.
