- 8 tbsp. flour
- 1 cup sugar
- Dash of salt
- 4 cups milk
- 4 egg yolks
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 3–4 ripe bananas
- Vanilla wafers
Instructions
- Start by mixing your flour, sugar, salt, milk, egg yolks, and vanilla in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir continuously until the mixture thickens; this usually takes about 15-20 minutes.
- Once your pudding mixture has thickened, layer your ingredients in a dish starting with a layer of sliced bananas and vanilla wafers.
- Pour half of your thickened pudding mixture over the layer of bananas and wafers.
- Repeat the layering process with another layer of bananas and wafers, followed by the remaining pudding mixture.
- For the finishing touch, crumble a few vanilla wafers and sprinkle them on top of the pudding.
- Let the dessert cool before serving to help the flavors meld together.
Notes
Serve with a slice of banana and a dollop of whipped cream or add a sprinkle of cinnamon or caramel sauce for extra flavor.
