Description

A creamy and dreamy dessert packed with ripe bananas, smooth pudding, and crunchy vanilla wafers.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 tbsp. flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • Dash of salt
  • 4 cups milk
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 34 ripe bananas
  • Vanilla wafers

Instructions

  1. Start by mixing your flour, sugar, salt, milk, egg yolks, and vanilla in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir continuously until the mixture thickens; this usually takes about 15-20 minutes.
  2. Once your pudding mixture has thickened, layer your ingredients in a dish starting with a layer of sliced bananas and vanilla wafers.
  3. Pour half of your thickened pudding mixture over the layer of bananas and wafers.
  4. Repeat the layering process with another layer of bananas and wafers, followed by the remaining pudding mixture.
  5. For the finishing touch, crumble a few vanilla wafers and sprinkle them on top of the pudding.
  6. Let the dessert cool before serving to help the flavors meld together.

Notes

Serve with a slice of banana and a dollop of whipped cream or add a sprinkle of cinnamon or caramel sauce for extra flavor.
