Description

A rich and creamy chocolate mousse cake made with layers of moist chocolate cake, fluffy mousse, and silky ganache, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 oz semi-sweet chocolate
  • Fresh strawberries for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a cake pan.
  2. Mix together the flour, cocoa powder, and sugar in a bowl.
  3. Cream the unsalted butter until creamy, then add the eggs one at a time, mixing well.
  4. Add the vanilla extract and milk to the mixture, stirring until smooth.
  5. Combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients until just combined. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, then allow the cake to cool completely.
  7. Prepare the mousse by melting semi-sweet chocolate and allowing it to cool slightly.
  8. Whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form, then gently fold in the cooled chocolate.
  9. Layer the mousse on top of the cooled cake for a smooth and even layer.
  10. Make the ganache by melting semi-sweet chocolate with heavy cream until smooth.
  11. Pour the ganache over the mousse layer, allowing it to seep into the edges.
  12. Chill the assembled dessert in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
  13. Garnish with fresh strawberries before serving.

Notes

For best results, use high-quality chocolate and make sure ingredients are at room temperature. Avoid overmixing the batter.
