Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare the crust by combining flour and powdered sugar, then cutting in the softened butter.
- Stir in the egg yolk until the dough forms.
- Shape the crusts by rolling out the dough and cutting into rounds for tartlet pans.
- Bake the crusts for about 15 minutes until golden.
- Make the custard filling by heating milk and whisking sugar, cornstarch, and egg yolk.
- Thicken the custard in the saucepan until creamy.
- Flavor the custard with vanilla extract.
- Assemble the tartlets with custard in the cooled shells.
- Garnish with fresh strawberry slices just before serving.
