Description

A rich and moist flourless chocolate cake that melts in your mouth, perfect for chocolate lovers and gluten-free diets.


Ingredients

  • 8 ounces chocolate, roughly chopped
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cut into pieces
  • 5 large eggs, separated
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare an 8-inch round cake pan.
  2. Melt the chocolate and butter together in a saucepan over low heat, stirring until smooth.
  3. Whisk together the egg yolks, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth and pale.
  4. Mix the melted chocolate mixture into the egg yolk mixture until well combined.
  5. Beat the egg whites in a separate bowl until stiff peaks form.
  6. Fold the beaten egg whites into the chocolate mixture gently in three additions.
  7. Sift cocoa powder over the batter and fold it in gently.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for about 25 minutes.
  9. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before inverting onto a serving plate.

Notes

Dust with powdered sugar before serving. Pairs well with whipped cream, ice cream, fresh berries, or chocolate sauce.
