Instructions

  1. Heat the mixture: Start by heating 1 cup of water, 1/4 cup of unsalted butter, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt in a saucepan over medium heat until it gently boils.
  2. Add the flour: Reduce the heat to low and add 1 cup of all-purpose flour to the saucepan, stirring vigorously to form a thick dough.
  3. Cool the dough: Transfer the dough to a large mixing bowl and let it cool for about 5 minutes.
  4. Mix in the egg and vanilla: Add 1 large egg and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract, whisking until smooth.
  5. Prepare for piping: Transfer the dough into two piping bags, using appropriate tips for bear shapes.
  6. Shape the churros: Pipe a large circle for the body and add ears with a smaller tip.
