- 4 cups fresh or canned peaches, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup sugar (divided)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare the fruit by washing, peeling, and slicing fresh peaches or draining canned peaches. Mix with 1/4 cup of sugar and set aside.
- Make the batter by combining flour, remaining sugar (3/4 cup), baking powder, and salt. Stir in milk, melted butter, and vanilla until just combined.
- Combine the batter into a greased baking dish without spreading it. Spoon peaches evenly over the batter without stirring.
- Sprinkle cinnamon on top of the peaches if desired.
- Bake in the oven for 40-45 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly.
- Cool slightly before serving.
Notes
