Description

This Silky Chocolate Cheesecake combines rich chocolate and creamy cheesecake for a delightful dessert that melts in your mouth.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 8 oz semi-sweet chocolate, melted
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pre-made graham cracker crust or homemade crust
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted (if making a crust)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C).
  2. Beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy.
  3. Add the granulated sugar to the cream cheese, mixing until fully combined.
  4. Blend in the sour cream and melted chocolate until uniform in texture.
  5. Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  6. Stir in the cocoa powder and vanilla extract until well mixed.
  7. If using a homemade graham cracker crust, combine crushed graham crackers with melted butter and press into the bottom of a pie pan.
  8. Pour the cheesecake filling into your prepared crust, smoothing the top with a spatula.
  9. Bake for 50-60 minutes until edges are set but the middle is slightly jiggly.
  10. Cool the cheesecake in the oven for about an hour, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.

Notes

Top the cheesecake with whipped cream, chocolate shavings, or fresh berries for an extra treat. It can also be served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
