- 5 cups fresh apples (sliced)
- 1/2 cup granulated white sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup old-fashioned oats
- 2/3 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter (melted)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease your baking dish.
- Combine sliced apples with granulated sugar, 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon, and vanilla extract in a large bowl.
- Pour the apple mixture into the greased baking dish.
- Mix all-purpose flour, oats, brown sugar, salt, and the other 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon in a separate bowl. Pour in melted butter and stir until crumbled.
- Sprinkle the topping evenly over the apples. Bake for 45 to 60 minutes until the topping is golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving, best enjoyed warm with vanilla ice cream.
Notes
For best results, serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, or a drizzle of caramel sauce.
