Description

A delightful dessert that combines sweet, juicy apples with a crunchy cinnamon-scented topping, perfect for fall gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 5 cups fresh apples (sliced)
  • 1/2 cup granulated white sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 2/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter (melted)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease your baking dish.
  2. Combine sliced apples with granulated sugar, 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon, and vanilla extract in a large bowl.
  3. Pour the apple mixture into the greased baking dish.
  4. Mix all-purpose flour, oats, brown sugar, salt, and the other 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon in a separate bowl. Pour in melted butter and stir until crumbled.
  5. Sprinkle the topping evenly over the apples. Bake for 45 to 60 minutes until the topping is golden brown.
  6. Allow to cool slightly before serving, best enjoyed warm with vanilla ice cream.

Notes

For best results, serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, or a drizzle of caramel sauce.
